I saw this pictorial several weeks ago when on a pet group’s twitter, and I still remember how it brought tears to my eyes when reading every line of the words. I was sure I would translate them into English one day and share with as many cat lovers as I can, and now it’s finally time to do it.
1. “When I’m fighting with the death, please be there for me all the way and don’t tell yourself ‘I can’t bare to watch this’ or ‘as long as it doesn’t die in front of me…’. Once you are here by my side, I’ll have the courage to overcome all the dangers in my life.”
I’m not an anti of mercy-killing, sometimes I would rather choose this than see the animals struggling and suffering the pains. But I know it for sure that it’s a heartbreaking decision for every pet owner to let their loved pets die without trying to save their lives first. Sometimes it may be their destinies to die due to disease or serious injuries, but sometimes there may be a miracle waiting too if you and your cat could hang on until then. Just be there with your cats even if there’s very few hope. Your accompany, as always, will make them feel comfortable and confident with every challenge, they will not give up their lives easily for themselves AND you.
2. “Please let me understand more about you to become the one you want me to be, all I need from you is a bit time and patients.”
Cats are absolutely smart but they are not god who know everything about every human being, they will need a little while to explore the new space as well as get to know you. As the time goes you will find that your cat is getting closer to your desire day by day, and that’s called the ‘learning progress’. Give them enough time to do it, and be as patient as you can, because both of you are going to live a happy life together after this and till the end of time!
3. “When I’m getting older and weaker, please don’t leave me alone. This is only a small part of your life to spend with me, but I am giving you all my life to be your best accompany.”
I’ve seen terrible things in the past, pet owners sold their old cats or dogs to those dirty dealers who will re-sell those animals to slaughterhouse. That’s what made me even more determined to give my cats the best I can get untill the peaceful ends of their lives. Don’t give up your pet so easy, our lives are short and bitter, but please remember that the lives of theirs are even shorter, and they trust in you to have a better life than wandering in the wild.
4. “If you have some extra times, it would be great if you keep talking to me now and then. Maybe I can’t completely understand your language, but I can remember your voice.”
This what I do often to my cats, I love talking to them despite all they can reply is a ‘meow’. Cats really can understand your emotion or mood by listening to your voice or sound volume, as long as you keep on sending your ‘voice message’ to them.
5. “If you are going to blame me for not being the nicest cat, please take a while to think that if it’s due to your ignorance on me, or if I’m actually ill…”
As mentioned above, cats need time to know you, as well as your patients to treat, play, or talk with them to help them becoming the best pet for you. If you never get a proper response from them, then maybe this is due to other physical issues that you need to solve with the supports of a vet. Don’t think you’ll be wasting your time, because, as I said, there is a happy and united life waiting for both you and your cat after all of these difficulties.
6. “All I need from you is a humble house and the simplest food you can provide, but the happiness I could bring you is priceless. I may be a bit naughty at some times, but please forgive me since this is my nature.”
People may be picky on your wealth, your look or simply you, but pets won’t. As long as you are a responsible owner, you mean the whole world to them. Even the most behaved cats may have some exceptions now and then, keep in mind how many joys they’ve given you in the past and don’t abort your love to them.
7. “I will never forget how you treated me, no matter good or what…”
Even the homeless cat in my grandparent’s neighborhood that I haven’t seen her for at least 2 years, could still recognise my voice and run to me without any hesitation, it’s for sure they’ll remember everything about any person who used to ‘communicate’ with them. If you love to be memorized as a nice person by every creature, don’t abuse any of them, cause they will never forget.
8. “Please give me an education if I’ve done something wrong, but please don’t keep on yelling at me or lock me up. You have your workmates, friends, family and you can have fun with any of them together…but all I have, is YOU.”
9. “The lifetime of mine is only around 15 years, so being separated with you even only for a few days is terribly sad for me. Please make sure you won’t ever let it happen, before taking me home.”
